A partnership between Eviden and Microsoft will increase the availability of cloud and artificial intelligence services for the clients of the French IT business.

The firms’ current teamwork will be strengthened by this five-year strategic agreement, which will introduce new solutions targeted at sectors like life science, manufacturing, and financial services.

The cloud and data segment of IT services giant Atos, which separated into a new company last year, is called Eviden.

Over the partnership’s lifetime, the two estimate that Eviden may gain an extra $2.8 billion in cloud revenue.

According to a statement announcing the arrangement, the firms would collaborate to create “accelerators for joint go-to-market activities in key industries such as financial services, automotive, manufacturing, energy and utilities, health care, life sciences, and [the] public sector”.

To expedite cutting-edge research and the joint creation of generative AI-enabled industrial solutions across critical industries, co-innovation “industry hubs” will be established.

Over the next five years, Eviden plans to upskill and teach over 16,000 new Microsoft certifications, strengthening its staff. Additionally, the company plans to expand its sales team into several countries in both Europe and the US.

Microsoft’s senior vice president and chief commercial officer, Judson Althoff, stated: “To help them address their most critical business challenges, organizations today are looking to apply generative AI responsibly and securely.”

It gives me great pleasure to deepen our partnership with Eviden, a top partner in digital transformation, in order to provide cutting-edge AI solutions.

“Together, we will accelerate AI transformation and help customers across industries realize the full potential of their data to unlock business growth.”

Eviden partnerships

Since Atos split into two distinct companies last year in an attempt to earn a profit following years of financial difficulties, Eviden has been running on its own. Eviden can now concentrate on its development areas, such cloud, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, since Tech Foundations is now in charge of managing the company’s legacy IT infrastructure contracts.

In an effort to remain relevant to its customers, it has been attracting partnerships with US hyperscale cloud providers, and in November it signed an AI agreement with Amazon’s AWS.

“Through the combination of our respective strengths, we will empower organizations to optimize the use of data and AI to deliver exceptional value and thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital and cloud landscape,” stated Carlo d’Asaro Biondo, CEO of Eviden and group general manager in charge of business operations.

“In addition to the extended collaboration on Digital Workplace with Atos’ Tech Foundations business line, announced in November, this further enhances Atos Group’s engagement with Microsoft.”

In the realm of supercomputing, Eviden is also involved in the construction of Europe’s first exascale machine in Germany, together with other firms. 24,000 Nvidia GH200 superchips will power this.
