LightEdge

LightEdge aims to invest heavily in implementing its enterprise cloud solutions to help local firms, and it has acquired a 3.6MW facility.

The US company LightEdge has purchased a Minneapolis, Minnesota, data center. This week, LightEdge, the data center platform supported by GI Partners, announced its arrival into the Minneapolis market with the purchase of a 76,000-square-foot, 3.6 MW data center in Chaska, Minnesota, which is certified by Uptime Tier 3 Design.

Data Centers Extension

The building, which is 25 miles from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, has three private data center chambers that collectively have 30,000 square feet of data hall space. In a news statement, the company said it will invest a lot of money in the location to provide local businesses with managed services, cloud on-ramps, enterprise LightEdge Cloud, and fully redundant network.

“We are excited to enter the Minneapolis market, invest in this rapidly growing region, and deliver our best-in-class IT solutions to a new state,”

“We are dedicated to building and supporting tailored cloud solutions delivered from in-market data centers that meet the rigorous demands of enterprise-grade operations and empower local companies with seamless connectivity and the robust infrastructure needed to thrive in today’s digital landscape.” stated LightEdge.

Tax Incentive program

The Data Center Tax Incentive program in Minnesota, which offers significant cost savings and reductions of up to 40% in total occupancy expenses, includes the Minneapolis data center. With two utility feeds from two substations and disaster recovery office space supported by 2N or N+1 Tier 3 concurrent maintainable configurations, the facility is built to resist winds of up to 185 miles per hour.

After this purchase closes, LightEdge will have 12 data centers in the US under ownership and operation. Following GI Partners’ acquisition of a majority investment in LightEdge in 2021, the company is said to have improved its cloud offering, established five new data centers, tripled its network capacity, and completed three acquisitions.

Data Center Capacity

The data center in Minneapolis can easily accommodate AI workloads with 50+ KW racks and high-density installations, according to the business, and has capacity available right now. As the team grows, LightEdge intends to add more sales and support employees in the Minneapolis region.
