Starlink must clear a few regulatory obstacles even after receiving the GMPCS license before it can begin providing commercial services. The company aimed to launch services in India in 2022.

The SpaceX-owned company Starlink has been trying to get into the Indian broadband landscape for many years. However, Starlink hasn’t yet begun offering services in India since it hasn’t received the necessary governmental clearances. The only two businesses in the nation have the approvals or licenses required by the government to provide satellite broadband are Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite Communications. Starlink, now the third firm on this list, has advanced significantly.

According to a Livemint article, Starlink may now provide satellite internet services in India. According to reports, Starlink has been awarded the Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) license by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

But before Starlink can begin providing commercial services, it still has to clear a few regulatory obstacles in addition to the GMPCS license. The company aimed to launch services in India in 2022. However, Starlink hasn’t been able to launch services because of the delays brought on by the legal framework and the clarity that the sector required in order to launch services.

The market is aware of Starlink’s goods and products because it already provides services in several regions of the world. If you have a Starlink connection, you won’t lose connectivity whether you’re driving, sitting at your home or workplace, or out at sea. The firm offers solutions for all situations.
