Nokia has been selected by Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) to upgrade its Circuit Switched Core network, in relation to the United Arab Emirates Telecommunications Company, du. In order to offer Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) services, Nokia will upgrade and expand the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Voice Core Network.

Improved Services Delivery

According to the official announcement, once implemented, the enhanced solution will allow du to save operating costs by offering additional services and better voice services to a larger number of users. Modernizing du’s current infrastructure will also guarantee a seamless switchover to Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services.

Assistance for 3G Users

Additionally, the rollout will enable du to support 3G users till they upgrade to support VoLTE service, deliver improved Fixed voice services to clients, and increase IMS’s present capacity to handle increasing network demand. Nokia plans to use du in conjunction with AVA Traffica and Mediation products to provide vital real-time information into network management.
