Lounea to launch Fiber Optic Infra in Eura, Finland

Lounea Finnish telecoms firm in the western Satakunta region of Finland has announced plans of launching fiber-optic network infrastructure in 2024 and 2025.

According to Lounea’s official announcement outlining its intentions, fiber will be deployed to a number of locations, including Filppula, Nikkari, Rannankulma, Kiiskinmaki, Varkausenmaki, Kirkkovainio, Luistari, Nummi, Maasilta, and Kirkonkylanmaki.

The corporation states that the first live connections over this infrastructure should occur primarily in the current year, with development of the fiber optic network in these locations starting in the spring of 2024. In the future, Lounea has stated that it wants to grow even further in the Eura area, although it hasn’t offered specific plans for this.

In an earlier post, Lounea stated that it has started utilizing Netnod’s remote peering service to transfer internet traffic in Sweden as well as Finland. By using this technology, Lounea says it can work directly with international ISPs and distributors in Stockholm, boosting the scalability, low latency, and high quality of internet services for Finnish consumers.
