Nokia has created a new division that is solely responsible for offering security solutions to the US federal government.

Nokia Federal Solutions

Known as Nokia government Solutions (NFS), the division will meet the vital requirements of US government agencies in a variety of tasks by using Nokia’s technology portfolio, which is supported by Nokia Bell Labs.

According to Nokia, the federal government will receive private cellular, Edge computing, and other vital linked technologies from its NFS business.

The vendor continues, “We will use IP routing, optical networking, microwave, 5G, and private networks to meet the needs of the federal government.”

“In today’s interconnected world, the US government faces complex communications challenges,” stated Mike Loomis, president of Nokia Federal Solutions.

With Nokia Federal Solutions, we are reinforcing our adherence to serving the US government by funding a specialized organization that will supply the local presence, know-how, and technology required to support US federal agencies in fulfilling their missions. In order to become the US Government’s go-to partner for 5G mission-ready technologies, we are investing.

NFS’s release, according to Nokia’s VP of mobile networks Tommi Uitto, builds on the company’s recent acquisition of Fenix Group.

In December, Nokia signed an agreement to buy Fenix Group, a provider of tactical private wireless solutions for military that is secure.
