Wi-Fi 7 Certified

Wi-Fi 7 Certified by Wi-Fi Alliance Officially

Wi-Fi 7 Certified

According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, the Wi-Fi 7 Certified will make it possible for new use cases such as immersive 3D training, electronic gaming, industrial IoT, multi-user AR/VR/XR, hybrid work, and more. To put things in perspective, the usual channel size for Wi-Fi 6 is 160 MHz.

Finally, the Wi-Fi Alliance has officially certified Wi-Fi 7. It is the newest Wi-Fi standard and claims to provide customers with the highest internet speeds available from consumer-grade Wi-Fi routers. The capabilities of Wi-Fi 7 surpass even those of Wi-Fi 6E. None of the Wi-Fi standards from earlier generations can match the speeds and connection that Wi-Fi 7 offers.

Why Wi-Fi 7 Certified devices required

According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, the Wi-Fi Certified 7 will make it possible for new use cases such as immersive 3D training, electronic gaming, industrial IoT, multi-user AR/VR/XR, hybrid work, and more. To put things in perspective, the usual channel size for Wi-Fi 6 is 160 MHz. However, Wi-Fi 7 doubles that frequency to 320 MHz, providing greater capacity for faster communication. Additionally, the standard is smarter and better-suited for improved connection across several devices on the same network.

Numerous tech companies, including Intel, MediaTek, Qualcomm, and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), currently provide products that enable WiFi 7.

Wi-Fi 7 is a revolutionary advancement in wireless communication, bringing it to previously unheard-of levels of performance, according to Rahul Patel, Senior VP and General Manager, communication, Broadband and Networking at Qualcomm Technologies. Millions of Wi-Fi 7 smartphones, PCs, and access points are now powered by the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 and Networking Pro Series Platforms, and we are proud to have both of them in the certification test bed.”

According to MediaTek’s Corporate Vice President Alan Hsu, “The Wi-Fi 7 certification program has advanced very fast. MediaTek has collaborated extensively with Wi-Fi Alliance to develop and test our Filogic portfolio, being among the initial users of Wi-Fi 7 technology.”

Wi-Fi 7 is already supported by a large number of cellphones in India. But, the technology won’t be really seen in India until the DoT delicenses the 6 GHz frequency.
